Abstract


This community service activity aims to enhance the capacity of teachers at Raudhatul Athfal (RA) and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) under the auspices of Yayasan Babud Darajah Al Amri Sekolah Yatim dan Dhuafah Zammi Medan in developing instructional books tailored to the characteristics and learning needs of their students. The training was conducted in response to the limited availability of teacher-developed learning materials and to encourage autonomy and innovation in the teaching process. The implementation methods included lectures, workshops, and intensive mentoring, conducted in stages—from the introduction of textbook concepts, content design, to final writing and revision. The results indicated an improvement in participants' understanding of textbook structure and writing techniques, and several draft textbooks were produced for further development. This activity made a significant contribution to strengthening teachers' professional competencies and supported the development of contextual learning resources in a socially and religiously oriented school environment.
